Knives Aimed at the Soft Underbelly

Greetings,

Australians seem to have things reasonably well in hand in regard to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic which is sweeping the world. Cases in all of the states of Australia are reducing. This was thanks to the reaction of our governments both State and Federal, putting in place actions to stop its spread. We remember how our governments are handling things quite well, and think that the assistance that our Federal Government under the leadership of Mr Scott Morrison as assisted people with the additions to funds which he has given.

Well, the holiday is over. It is time to get the country up and running again, and Mr Morrison has sharpened up his knives and has them aimed, as usual at the soft underbelly of our society, the most vulnerable.

Two days ago there appeared in the Daily Mail Mr Morrison's refusal to extend the JobKeeper scheme because he "warned against the country becoming 'addicted' to state handouts." (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8318569/Scott-Morrison-rules-extending-20billion-month-JobKeeper-scheme.html) This is while our country is seeing the highest unemployment that it has seen in years as a result of COVID-19 and for no other reason. These people did not miraculously lose their jobs because they were lazy just decided to stay home, they had to because regulations required them to, and because that is what is defeating the virus.

In yesterday's Daily Mail there appears another attack on the Australian public, the same public he is supposedly protecting. This time it is against those with children. Free childcare was another measure put in place as a result of COVID-19, well that is another one which is set to disappear, "the prime minister warns he plans to scrap free childcare as soon as possible." https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8322559/Scott-Morrison-set-scrap-free-childcare-scheme-introduced-COVID-19-restrictions.html Another blow to the public which he is supposedly trying to protect. The only way that people will be able to pay for childcare is for people to go back to work, which rushes people back into public, and close proximity quickly, too fast to ensure a second wave of COVID-19 does not occur, and more damage to the economy that he is so worried about.

Mr Morrison's sights are set on the economy, they always have been. This is his priority. He wants to get the economy back up and running and this is more of a concern to him than the safety of the same people who make that economy work. This is so his 'fact-cat' friends who survive because of the economy can continue making their millions and billions.

Remember all of these things when it comes to the next election.

Cheers,

Henry.
